On 1/20/11 I wrote about what to be wary of when picking an exercise trainer, but what if you have been bitten by ‘
the exercise bug’ and
you’re thinking of becoming a fitness trainer?
Ask yourself,
-Do you want to use your passion and knowledge of fitness to help others?
-Do you want to learn more about the physiology behind muscle growth?
-Do you want to teach others about the connection between nutrition and exercise?
-Do you want to work with older adults or people at a gym, or one-on-one?
Investigate the school you would like to be certified through. Check their credentials, course requirements, costs and student’s feedback. Realize that you can be certified in strength training, Spinning, yoga, pilates and many other specialties. Each one will have different time requirements. You can find those requirements on-line.
If fitness is your calling, pursue your passion and happy learning.
